Our lecturers are specialists, who focus on a very limited scope of areas, and their daily activities are therefore very different from those of a general practitioner’s – they are more limited, yet with greater depth, and attention to every detail. They are partners, executives and senior official from top-tier law firms and businesses and government officials – all internationally-renowned experts.
Bio - Gao Xiqing
Gao Xiqing, born in 1953, is a former President and Chief Investment Officer of China Investment Corporation, one of China’s sovereign wealth fund.
Gao obtained a master's degree in law from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, and a JD from Duke University in the USA. He became the first Chinese citizen ever to pass the New York State Bar Exam. His long and fruitful professional career began at the Wall Street, where he worked as an associate at Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander & Ferdon, the Richard Nixon’s (the 37th President of the USA) former law firm.
He served as director of the Public Offerings Department of the China Securities Regulatory Commission until 1995 and from 1997 until 1999 he agreed to become Deputy Chief Executive at the HK-Macao Regional Office of the Bank of China. Later on, he served as Vice-Chairman of the National Council of the Social Security Fund from 2003 - 2007. Gao remained loyal to one of his Alma Maters, currently serving as a member of the Duke University Board of Trustees.
